This clever wooden chair was designed by renowned Swedish designer Peter Andersson for NC Nordic Care. According to the creator, it was inspired by the curves and angles of the Rialto bridge in Venice. It features an extended board on the back, which serves as a bag or coat hook.
Since its introduction in 2002, the chair has become a favourite of cafés and restaurants across Scandinavia. The product has both FSC and Möbelfakta environment and quality certificates. Price starts at around $370.
Like many other successful Scandinavian designers, Peter Andersson graduated at the famous Konstfack University College of Arts, Crafts and Design in Stockholm, where he also returned later as a lecturer in furniture design.
