The AO sofa is the best selling product of Japanese furniture manufacturer IDEE. It was designed according to the needs of the Japanese market, thus the sitting height is very low, just 300 mm. Low that is by western standards only of course. This charming, tiny sofa is standing on solid ash wood legs, and it is also available in a one-seater version.
IDEE produces some beautiful Nordic style furniture and lamps, works of both Scandinavian and Japanese designers. It’s no surprise though, that Scandinavian and Japanese design have much in common. The love of nature, the organic perspective both in design and architecture or the high level of wood craftsmanship are characteristic of both people.
