The Design Without Borders exhibition was held in Budapest in April for the fifth time. The exhibition featured furniture, lamps and textiles from over 70 independent designers from Baltic, Scandinavian and Central European countries. No wonder the majority of the products were examples of Scandinavian design, and it was good to see that many of the young designers from Central Europe are going the Nordic way as well.
Some of my favorites at the exhibition were the Taburet Dot stool by Estonian Mihkel Mölder & Joonas Torim, the Acoustic Ply lamp by Hungarians Blum & Wolf, the Frame armchair by Hungarian Máté Horváth, the Audrey make-up table by Czech Helena Dařbujánová and the Tuohinen sofa by Finnish Mikko Lanne & Riku Toivonen. You can find all the exhibitors by country here.
