JUVET Landscape Hotel

Alex Garland’s science fiction drama Ex Machina features some stunning interiors and beautiful adjoining landscape. The story takes place at a forest hideout, in a minimalist luxury villa somewhere in the mountains. Many of the scenes were actually shot at Juvet Landscape Hotel in Norway, which was designed by Oslo based Jensen & Skodvin Architects.

The cabins at the Juvet Hotel superbly display the environmentally conscious approach of the client and the architects; no trees were cut down and no rocks were destroyed during the construction. As characteristic of Scandinavian design, the interior and exterior are in very close relationship, visitors remain part of the nature even when inside.
